What is Eco Schools Programme?
Eco-Schools Programme is an international environmental education programme supported by FEE (Foundation for Environmental Education) and implemented by TURÇEV (Turkish Environment Foundation) in our country. With the idea of creating awareness about the environment and changing human behaviour positively in this regard, it aims to increase awareness by creating environmental literacy in pre-school and primary-secondary schools and at the same time to put into practice what has been learned.
The importance of environmental education and the objectives of this education is increasing day by day with the intensive agenda of environmental problems. Students in the Eco-Schools programme, which is a multi-faceted programme, not only learn about the environment but also play an active role in raising awareness of their families, local governments and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) by serving the social dimension of sustainability.
By joining the Eco-Schools family, our school, which is part of the largest education programme in the world covering more than 70 countries, aims to sensitise our students about the environment and sustainable development goals with the aim and hope of leaving a more beautiful, clean and green world to future generations. In line with the Eco-School Action Plan created in October when our school became a member of the Eco-Schools Programme, our school carries out studies on Garbage-Waste & Recycling in accordance with the programme rules.
