Our eTwinning Projects

eTwinning is the community and programme that brings together schools across Europe as part of the European School Education Platform, funded by the European Union. At Private 22nd Century Schools, we are proud to connect our students with their peers beyond borders, helping them explore different cultures and create together around shared values. In our projects with partner schools from Romania, Portugal, Italy and many other European countries, our students strengthen their English communication, digital and teamwork skills. Our multidisciplinary citizenship and development project, “Animal Welfare,” set out to give students knowledge about the history of animals in society, along with an understanding of and reflection on the concepts of welfare and the ethical foundations of animal rights. Carried out in collaboration with partner schools from Romania, Portugal and Türkiye, the project saw Grade 7 students of Private 22nd Century Schools design logos and posters together using Web 2.0 tools. As part of the activities, they visited an animal shelter and donated food for our stray friends. Following our applications, the project went on to earn both the National Quality Label and the European Quality Label.

Bridging Cultures Through Etiquette
Nezaket Kuralları ile Kültürleri Birleştirme

  • Partners: Romania · Türkiye · Italy
  • Grades 7 & 2
  • Our school is co-founder

Good-manners education begins in the early years of childhood and is of great importance for children’s social and emotional development. In a European context, children learn that values such as politeness, respect and empathy are universal. The way these values are expressed may vary from culture to culture, but the message is the same: they help us live and work together in harmony. In the eTwinning project “Bridging Cultures Through Etiquette,” carried out with partner schools from Romania, Türkiye and Italy and co-founded by our school, our Grade 7 and Grade 2 students set out to build bridges between cultures by exploring the codes of conduct of different countries. Through international collaboration, the children discovered that expressions such as “please,” “thank you” and “sorry,” together with respectful gestures, form a universal language that brings us closer no matter our cultural differences. The experience raised their awareness and helped them become more attentive, kind and understanding.

  • We learn, we share, we connect!

This project brings together students from different European countries to explore school life, culture, traditions, food and outdoor activities, while building friendships and teamwork skills. Through collaboration and digital tools, students exchanged ideas, compared education systems and discovered the similarities and differences in their daily lives. By encouraging active participation, intercultural understanding and meaningful collaboration, the project helped students become more confident, open-minded and engaged learners. Studying school life, culture, traditions, food and outdoor activities in countries such as Romania and those of our other European partners, our Grade 7 students learned more about their friends abroad through shared experiences and built meaningful connections. We learn, we share, we connect!

One World, Many Stories, Endless Heroes
Tek Dünya, Birçok Hikâye, Sonsuz Kahramanlar

  • Grade 6
  • 21st-century skills

This is an inspiring international eTwinning project that brings students together through stories, culture, creativity and shared values. Pupils from different countries explored traditional tales, legends and favourite heroes from books, films and cartoons while improving their English communication and digital competences. In collaborative activities involving Grade 6 students of Private 22nd Century Schools, the children created posters, presentations, comics, videos and a shared eBook. They imagined themselves as superheroes, talked about fears and courage, promoted kindness, and discovered how ordinary people can become real heroes in everyday life. The project nurtures friendship, empathy, intercultural understanding and teamwork, while also developing key 21st-century skills such as creativity, critical thinking, collaboration and the responsible use of digital tools. By sharing their stories and experiences, students learned that although they come from different countries, they share common dreams, emotions and hopes. Together, they built bridges beyond borders and discovered that every child has a voice, every story matters and every student can be a hero.
